Volttage Regulator

Is it ok to use a Mechanical Voltage Regulator on a car with Electronic Ignition. I know they make them with ELE internals. I talking about the black box type on a 69RR

Walked around the swap meet two times and all I found was the Mach type and every one I ask bad mouth them as junk. I do not need one just wanted a spare, I see YEAR ONE has them but by the time you pay for shipping it cost a Arm And A Leg. The one on my RR work great so far.

Could have got you one of these for $15. I saw the box of them he had.
