What is the correct p/n for the water pump housing (383)? Mine has a p/n 2780987, but Im not sure if this is correct since the inlet/outlet pipes for the heater lines are different in size, and I belive that the 69 is suppose to have both 5/8" hoses. I havent been able to find out what a 2780987 is for, but im going to guess its 70 or later....

I think the water pump housing on my 383 is 2780887. I was reading upside down and sideways but I think that is the number on my housing. The reference section of MyMopar lists the PN#2780988 as the only number so I don't know what to think. If I can maneuver the engine stand around I will take another look later. The housing is the same for all B/RB engines. Also you can put in 5/8" nipples if necessary.

I found one site the reference a casting for a 69 (383, 440, 426) as 2780987, with a p/n 2780988. So it would seem that its the right casting, but not sure why there were be 2 different size heater hose nipples, as I think that was a change that was made later, 1970....?

heater cores are the same for b bodies 1966-69 for non a/c cars. 5/8 on both sides.

in 1970 the core changes to one side being 1/2 and the other 5/8.
