What Cleaner is Used -Interior Rear Glass Trim?

Getting ready to replace my Inside Rear Window Trim pieces. It was a messy project the first time and I am not expecting it to get better the second time around. My question is regarding the 3M 5/16 Butyl Rope that the trim pieces butt up against - what is the best cleaner to use on the plastic trim pieces to get rid of old and very sticky Butyl? I will be able to save the upper left & right trim -if there is a product more effective than isopropyl alcohol to clean the parts with. Unfortunately, the bottom trim was warped from the show n'shine sun and won't be reusable.

there is a cleaner I think for that .I saw guy cleaning up the glass with it and it smelled like keytone

You might try mineral spirits, that's what I used on my stainless rear window trim.
