A Kansas Poem


It's winter here in Kansas ,

And the gentle breezes blow,

Seventy miles an hour,

At twenty-five below.

Oh, how I love Kansas ,

When the snow's up to your butt,

You take a breath of winter,

And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful,

So, I guess I'll hang around,

I could never leave Kansas ,

My ass is frozen to the ground!
 
Having lived there as a young man in my twenties I remember two things very distinctly:

1) The State Tree is the telephone pole...

2) There is a pretty girl behind every tree...

The ten years I did in S.E. Wyo was about the same, telephone poles and sheep :lol:
