    Introduce Yourself:
Recently retired from 40 years in the power generation and oil and gas industries and moved from Richmond, Texas to Venice, Florida.
Long time MoPar guy but got disenchanted in 1974 when the whole car market went in the tank and, in my opinion, Chrysler led the way. In 1971 I owned a 70 Road Runner coupe with a 440+6bbl 4-speed which was stolen, rolled and stripped. In 2013 I bought a 1968 Barracuda fastback Formula S 383-4 with 4-speed and console - a one of 553. In dire need of a ground up restoration - a good 20 footer. Pending winning MegaMillions, this will happen. I had been looking for specifically this car since 1985. Just bought a 1969 383-4, 4-speed Road Runner sedan in September. Legendary Motor Cars of Halton Hills Ontario, Canada did a frame up resto in 2003. Car had been in heated storage for 15 years and driven about 2,000 miles since then. This is what I would consider a well optioned Road Runner: R4 Red with white interior, C16 console, C55 bucket seats, A01light package, L31 hood/fender mounted turn signals, N96 fresh air hood, V21 performance hood treatment, Magnum 500 wheels, rear shelf speaker, M6W white upper door panels,V6W longitudinal white stripes (which is something I've never seen on any Road Runner).

When I bought the car it ran hot and the battery needed to be continuously charged. Replaced the thermostat with a 180F one and replaced the Exide battery (mfr date 2005) with a new Interstate. Amazingly the car starts and the temperature gauge doesn't head for H. The radio is AM and I would like to upgrade to AM/FM/Blue tooth. There is a guy close by who advertises in Hemmings and does these conversions. The distributor is Perttonix I think. The vacuum advance has been plugged. I've been told that I need to repipe the vacuum advance and adjust the timing. I've heard no you don't need to do that as well.
