I was watching a youtube video on Laser rust removal. Does a great job, but the machines are up there in cost, 48 grand on Amazon .
I have used the POR-15 metal ready for rust removal, its okay, I imagine there are better processes out there.
IMO try to find a good used original. I have an aftermarket on mine I bought back in the early 90s. I never thought it sounded as good as the original horn.
I have the tach but its a year one repo I bought in the 90s I has a factory tach that I bought a harness for through Year One but I couldn't get it to work. The Rallye dash wasn't available until 70 in the B body Plymouths . However something I always thought was unusual was I had a friend that...
Yes I know it well, LOL actually mine is painted T7 as that is my interior color on my T3 vert. The well liner is on the back side and the rear seat on the other.
There are two boots as others have said. The boot on the 4 speed hump isn't as finished as a non console car. It has a plain metal ring and not as many bellows. I think I got both of mine from Jack's Auto Parts but that was at Carlisle 26 years ago LOL.
I was a Plymouth AAA troubleshooting contest finalist ,found my award certificate the other day. I got an electrical tester for a prize and a set of channel lock brand needle nose pliers. That toolbox is cool.
My original horn was black,(Build date 9/09/68) My original door handles had black buttons. I met a guy from West Virginian at Carlise in 2001 who had an early build 69 covertible in the butterscotch color with the black horn. His family was the original owners. I had to laugh when he told me he...
When I was younger I also did the bench press thing with transmissions. Really as we get older it's just not worth. Tear out a rotator cuff at 50-60-70 and your never going to heal up 100% again. Same thing goes for your back. I remember some guy in the Hudson club in his mid 80's really...
All 69's destined for California came with the dual snorkel and no exhaust tips. Mine was built in St. Louis but sold in Downey California and it has the dual snorkel.
When mine was painted in 92 I wanted to add the accent stripes(V7X) but could not find a good example so I nothing to go by. I wrote the tech guy for one of the Mopar magazines and never got a response so I gave up. In the current internet world it seems like you could find something. Heck these...
Plus a few of the additives cause deposit fouling on the spark plugs. I have the Roadrunner plus a 36 Terraplane and do not run anything but good non ethanol gas in them.
That is where they are on a 69,not sure if the 68 is different. I will thumb through some old magazines I have saved. I remember an article about a 68 that had been damage in a transport accident and was sitting in a back lot in a dealership. The car was as it left the factory and they...
I had a heck of a time finding a stock starter, several of the parts stores the old starter supersedes to the smaller high torque Japanese unit. I had to order that one at NAPA. I had trouble with the old one a few years back, took it apart and cleaned it and it was fine. But a week ago I had the...
