    front inner fender question

Your VIN# is stamped on your old core support...did you save it? Maybe you could graft that section back into the new core support...

Is this rear end authentic ?

It's missing the black paint stripes on the finish panel and in the taillights. The back window looks like a 4 door car to me, anyone else think so?

    Restoration: Certain changes decrease value?

I would say that the 4 speed conversion isn't terribly hard to undo, but the color change would be quite costly to change back. If I were a potential buyer I would consider the costs to undo the changes.

Fresh paint! The rest of the body parts were painted off the car. It should be wetsanded, buffed and assembled this week!

    A4 69 project

Here's how I drove the car to break in the drivetrain- it's a good thing I live in the country! The motor is a 68 440HP with KB 236 pistons, 906 heads, balanced bottom end, and a Comp Cams XE275 cam- .525 lift int and ex.. It idles surprisingly well, but turns on nicely with the 4 speed and 3.91s.

    A4 69 project

It's been quite a while since I've posted-sorry guys. Here's a brief update- I finished all the metal work, and had the car blasted on a rotisserie. It is at the paint shop now; the underside, passenger compartment and trunk compartment are painted. The car was assembled, blocked many times, and...

    Over Heating

Remove the thermostat and put everything back together. Leave the radiator cap off and see if the water is moving, you can narrow things down like that. I've seen the lower hose collapsed and not letting water flow, some of the real cheap hoses don't have a spring. Once you get it figured out...

    A4 69 project

I had a lift off hood on my '68 for a long time and it was kind of a pain in the ass, and this car is an air grabber car.

He runs the collision shop at the local Dodge dealer and he did some very nice work on my truck there. He does restorations at his shop at home, then paints the cars in the booth at the dealer. I looked at a couple of restos that he did and the body and paint was very high quality. I guess when...

    A4 69 project

Got a call that my motor is finally done- I hope to pick it up soon. I plan to break in the motor along with my fresh 11" clutch and 4 speed between Christmas and New Years. I also want to work out any bugs with the disc brake conversion before I break the car down to get soda blasted. I found a...

So, this is "Change you can believe in"???????????

This is the same man who says he's a christian, but still hasn't picked a church after 3 yrs in the white house. The man says anything he wants and no one calls him on it. He has told so many lies!! Open and transparent my ass. If he gets reelected he will use his last 4 years to ram all kinds...

Torque Boxes and Frame Connectors with new floors at bottom

Re: Torque Boxes and Frame Connectors with new floors at bot Looks like he's using flux core wire to me. On clean metal I would no doubt use a gas shield, but on the rust impregnated metal flux core gets a good bite. I would have used the gas shield on the trunk pans, but to each his own. Looks...

Tear down completed and off to blaster today.

Looks like you're moving along at a nice pace, and leaving no stone unturned! I had poly bushings in my '68 and they did get noisy after a short while. Looks good!

    The "N" word

That's my favorite Chapelle show skit!! I think it's a double standard- the n word is taboo but 'Polack' is quite acceptable to most. I get fired up when I hear it, not because of I'm offended but because of the double standard.
