I'm tired of each time I go to fire up my RR, (if I didn't run it yesterday,)
it needs to crank over and over to get fuel to the carb.
What are the thoughts of installing an Electric Fuel Pump? Brand? location?
Or do I have another issue? Edelbrock 650.
I have a 68. On a 68 it's a Black rectangle on the hood.
I found the measurements and correct paint code online - Authentic Restoration (Product?) (But I did have to dig)
Good Luck!
Thanks for the pic. I have a standing bird just wasn't sure where it went.
I'll figure out a spot for the runner probably over. There's not enough room on the outside of the existing ROAD RUNNER insignia.
Ready for decals.
Talked to a vendor and he said it doesn't matter if I put on color or black and white for my 68.
I would have thought that it was one or the other and probably color.
What did they come with originally?
I have a 68' 383, Car is running OK, I don't have as much get up as I'd expect.
I'm working on a new carburetor, I have an edelbrock 650 and my brother is sending me a Holly.
It has been mentioned a couple of times that my distributor looks like I got it from swap meet (previous owner).
As...
The gauge shows up about half way. There's two much stuff in the way and I can't get the heat gun to a good spot on the block. It shows about 180 degree on the thermostat housing but when I have it running in the garage of course it goes up. Just not comfortable..
Thanks for the reply's. I might be jumping the gun because the aluminum looks real good.
I have been told by a member that's it's not the correct radiator for the car. Just want to be sure.
the one I have is 22" wide, 7 blade @ about 17"dia. #789075 and 38086. No Shroud w/Crysler mark on top...
I'm thinking of replacing my radiator with an aluminum one w/electric fans.
I was just in WA and my brother has a mid sixties El Camino with a 402, aluminum radiator with two fans that looks real good and keeps his car at an even temp.
Any leads or suggestions?
I'm not the expert!
I thought all trim on these cars was originally stainless.
My 68 does not have trim on the wheel wells.
I have had to replace some trim and now, I've only found it in chrome. You can tell the difference.
You'll love this.
As stated before, SU out of the tank float in full position, gauge read full and dropped to empty when float was moved to 3/4.
In the tank, filled up with gas the gauge reads 3/8 of a tank. When I came to a stop, the gauge would move up to 3/4 then slowly move back to 3/8 after...
Thanks for hanging with me on this.
The sending Unit is such a simple item I don't see how they could ever go bad except if teh wire or striker broke. I have checked the resistance on the last three units and they read pretty much the same on Ohms.
When I ground the wire at the tank the gauge...
I did not get a new gauge. I've tested it the way the manual says to and from the battery ground to connection under the kick plate and the gauge appears to work. that is, it goes up to full then drops back down when released.
Could the gauge read the SU but not correctly? I hate to throw more...
Got the newest sending unit and RTE Limiter. Testing out of the car w/jumper wire from sending unit wire to where wire hooks up to SU and ground from battery to SU. and new limiter installed, The gauge would not move, bent the float full stop out of the way, bent the float arm and gauge would...
I ordered the RTE limiter this morning. I adjusted the float past the stop and got this gauge to show full.
Of course by now I've beat the s--- out of this sending unit and am ordering a new one. Again.
And my wife does not like walking either!
Reading more of the articles for a RTE limiter and For $50, It seems like a no brainer. Also looked up the cost for the old ones and
the price seemed to range from $43-$78. However I already have two that are working.
I had thought when a voltage limiter went out things just stopped working...
