Thanks. I wish it was mine. As I said, it belongs to a friend who unfortunately isn't very mechanically inclined or computer savvy. So I decided to join the forum in case I needed to gain some knowledge in order to help him out. So chances are I won't be on here too often. But it's a great...

After going back and forth to dealerships in 1969...Plymouth to Chevy, Plymouth to Chevy; I finally decided on ordering a '69 Chevelle SS, 396, 4 spd. gold w/black vinyl roof, A/C, and many other options. Unfortunately, a month after I ordered it, I got a call from the dealership telling me...

    '69 Roadrunner factory air questions

Well, I did find out what some of the componants are and how they work. First of all right inside the top of the compressor was a valve which regulated the amount of freon into the evaporator so it wouldn't freeze up. It was used on the R-12 system...called an EPR Valve. (Evaporator pressure...

Do you mean the top of the dash or all the front stuff? Either way, the more you have out of the way, the better off you are.

Love it!! And highly recommend it. Yes, easy to install, hooked up directly to my defrost ducts and didn't have to cut the original ones out as I would have with Vintage air. Oh, and I like the fact that nice easy smooth cables are used instead of those electronic servos that VA uses. Much...

Thank you very much Big John for your input. That will help. As I stated, it's my buddy's car. I've done a little automotive A/C work and have installed 2 aftermarket systems...Vinrage Air on a '56 Chevy and Classic Auto Air on my own '55 Chevy and of course pumped down many other cars and...

Yeah, even though this was quite a restoration, I don't think the guy restored anything in the heater/air box. I'm thinking either the door isn't closing all the way when you put it on A/C or the seals are all deteriorated. As far as the thermostat, one guy said it would be mounted on the...

It's not an aftermarket system. It is a factory system OEM...Original Factory. Except there might a componant or two missing.

    '69 Roadrunner factory air questions

Would like as much info as possible. First of all, would like a list of all the oem componants. On the oem system did the compressor run constantly with a full charge or did the compressor cycle? If it ran constantly, which componant allows it to regulate so the evaporator doesn't freeze up...

Thanks for the welcome. We're not from Georgia, only had the car sent down there to have it restored by a proffesional restoration shop. The guy no longer has the shop. We are northwest Indiana natives.

Ok thanks. You can delete this one. I figured out where to put it and retitled it. This forum is a little different than others I'm on.
