The Bird has flown the coop!

Its been a long time since I've been on the site. For all you old timers who remember my green Bird, it has been sold to a good home and in a strange twist of fate the new owners live only 5 miles from me! The new owners are really great and we keep in touch. I am now looking at a 1967 Coronet...

    Insurance

Go to usconceledcarry.com to see rates. They have 3 different levels to choose from. And BTW photobucket can bite me if they think I'm going to pay them to host my pics!

    Thinking of a new rifle

Hey Dave. My buddy Jim is going to contribute an electric cooling fan to see if that will help as a short-term fix. I'll get it on and see. Haven't driven the car much this year, especially with mid-90 temps here in Orlando. Lots of other things going on that are claiming my budget so the RR is...

    Thinking of a new rifle

Hey Dave, yeah. Posts are few and far between these days. Just a lot going on. Problems with the car overheating. I have replaced everything in the cooling system. I think the block may be silted up. Gonna drain it and pop the freeze plugs to see. Very discouraging.

    Thinking of a new rifle

I know this is an old thread but I got a S&W M&P 15-22 Sport at Christmas time. This week I got my 2.5 moa red/green dot (reticle) w/laser, 1" spacer and 6"-9" bipod for it. Sweet little setup. I'm calling it Project Pit Viper. Small but deadly.

    'Sup guys

Movie is fine - no problem for kids that I see. Thanks for all the kind wishes. Just spent Friday-Sat bringing my sis-in-law over from Tarpon Springs to look at a few Assisted Living Facilities. She has indicated she likes one in particular so it looks like she will be coming over here. Taking...

    'Sup guys

Thanks guys, and yes, Ray, I am planning on heading up to Garlits. I suspect the cooling issue may be due to sediment in the block. I need to replace some tie rod boots so I'll probably drop the center link, loosen the headers, and pop the freeze plugs to see if there is any sedimentation in the...

    'Sup guys

Been a little busy lately. My brother passed in March from pneumonia while his wife was in the hospital for another one of her mental "breaks". She is in a rehab/extended care facility in Tarpon Springs, FL atm and we are trying to relocate her over here to Orlando into an ALF. Also trying to...

    Help with camshaft

I'll second either Comp or Bob Karakashian based on what you are planning to do with the car. For a cruiser I'd go with the Bob Karakashian cam. He told me that in a fairly stock 383 with mild mods to install his cam 2 degrees advanced. For heavier duty I went with the Comp XE-275HL. Specs are...

    Oil pan

Its not a factory flaw. If you install a non-factory high volume pump you'll have the chance pump the stock pan dry. Even with the factory pan if you stabbed the brakes really hard you would likely see your oil light come on. The reason for that warning light coming on during hard braking is...

Best way to tackle surface rust on Floor pans?

If you want to try something else you can go to Autozone and get a product called Evapo-Rust. It is not like Ospho. You can work with it bare-handed and it won't hurt you like the acid in Ospho. It works on a principle called chemical chelation. Check it out here...
