1969 survivor, question of value?

I am brand new to this site and I searching but not finding quite what I am looking for and I am hoping you all can help me.
My father got cancer and while he was still alive he gave me his car which he special ordered in 1969. It ran when parked but has sat for 10 years, always garaged. I have new tires coming and am in the process of cleaning out the fuel system and giving it a tuneup. Should be ready to go after that. I want to get insurance but not sure of the value I should put on the car.
Here is what I can figure out from the fender tag:

I have the window sticker, order paperwork, original bill of sale, original title and other original paperwork and factory service manual. I have the magazines that he looked at in 1967/8 to decide to buy the car. It has 55K miles, never been wrecked or had any metal replaced. All original paint and interior. Only thing not 100% as it rolled out of the factory is there is a set of headers on it but I do have the original cast iron manifolds and my dad did have to replace the alternator because the original made a ticking sound on the radio but I have the original one.

I am including some pictures so you have some kind of ballpark idea of what it would be worth. Any help given would be much appreciated.

welcome to the site, beautiful car. You may be met with some skepticism here. Occasionally someone joins with a "just inherited Grandpa's car, what's it worth?" with the sole intent to line their pockets.
That being said....just off the top of my head, I'd insure that for $50,000. Is it worth it? Not sure. But, they're not making them anymore, and an all original car can't be beat. The classic car insurance companies are usually easy to settle on an agreed value, and will also insure spare parts. Stuff like headers shouldn't affect the value, it was a common swap, and you have the original manifolds.

Nice ride good story behind the car, you know the history and you probably have a good idea what the value of a restored one is. The hard part is putting the value of a survivor on it. Get it appraised or put it on E-bay with a ridiculous reserve on it so it won't sell, its worth what someone is willing to pay for it. That's the best I can do!

Haggerty Insurance has a guide that should help you with valuation of your car to start with. The other, and probably better option, is to have the car appraised by a professional. It might cost you a couple hundred dollars, but then you have a record of condition and its value should something happen.

I've found that Haggerty is pretty good with working with you on the evaluation. Look at their site and then give them a call.

I appreciate the feedback. I grew up in that car so it is priceless to me and wouldn't sell it for any amount of money. I couldn't afford to insure it for what it is worth to me.

The car was actually a South Dakota car but I am in Idaho so it is a North West car now. Other than the original stuff I mentioned I don't have any spare parts because dad never replaced any parts.

I realized I didn't upload the window sticker. I also included a warranty book just for the fun of it.

I know it doesn't do anything for the value but for flavor my dad had a friend who retired from Chrysler and got a set of gold plated sockets for his years of service. He gave them to my father to go with the car.

With your history with the car, I would say it is priceless. With most classic insurance companies, you can name your price of agreed value insurance. Insure it for what you can afford. Very cool car, but I like the history even more.

I think Basket is pretty close on the value. The average roadrunner is this condition would sell for about 40k. because of the history and documentation I think 50 is a good number. Most of the insurance cos will insure for that number and probably cost you about 1000 to 1200 for the year. maybe a little less.

agreed...you couldn't ever replace THAT car...but you could buy another.When I first got my car, I had it insured with Hagerty, and The Boss's Ghia for $359 a year with their top road service, for an agreed $25,000 on the runner and $10,000 on the Vdub.

50k would be about 500 a year. I found with American collectors an agreed value is about $100 per $10,000 in value for an agreed policy. Oh and I had a claim with them that went well!

I lost my father January 6th. Yea, sentimental value is priceless to me. I can remember riding in the car when I was growing up. I took it to prom. It has been a part of the family for as long as I can remember. My dad took my mom to Las Vegas on their honeymoon in that car.

I wasn't sure what an all original paint survivor would add to the car. I have been looking at various sites and it is really hard to even find a survivor. I seem to find a lot that say they are but not original motor, or have had a quarter panel or other metal replaced or even repainted. Guess I am new at this but not sure I would call some of them survivors. I know the car guys around here go nuts for the paperwork that I have and they really are into the fact that there isn't anything replaced, never restored and it has the original paint in good shape. (Glad dad kept it garaged all of the time.) but they have wild guesses as well for what it is worth. I get from about 40K to 100K.

I guess though it really does come down to if something happened I would never find another car like that because it might be really nice but it wouldn't be the one I grew up in.

I do have a friend that deals in survivors and he sold a 45,000 mile 69 GTX 4spd bucket seat silver with black top black interior all original for 55k on Ebay a few years ago. Nice clean car

I never remember them being on there so what ever happened to them happed 35+ years ago. I THINK I remember my father telling me years ago that they lost their sticky and fell off, but that is a really old memory and maybe I am mistaken. He drove the car as a daily driver until about 1980 so it did see some winter driving.

All the guys are close on the numbers. The thing is can you find one like yours with all the paper work and finder tag. The one I bought with no papers or finder tag but I have one. It is a runner and not a clone. Figure even with out number matching should be worth at least 30K when I am done with the restore. Just remember that every time you drive it your father will be smiling on you. Sorry for the loss. It is an awesome car.

They are readily available on Ebay, and pretty cheap as I recall.
