anyone see this on the 'parts? guy just finished a 10 year resto, took car out for it's first drive.
 
back wheel came off poking a hole in the gas tank......
 
That definitely sucks for him and would piss me off if it happened to me. Does he know why the wheel came off?

My friend was told the lugs sheered off, but I bet they were loose
 
in the thread on the 'parts, it said the car had a Ford Explorer reaend, and the studs were stripped.
 
Talk about a bad day. Glad he got out safely. Stuie, I don't think an extiguisher would have helped. Too much raw fuel.
 
I got this in an e-mail. The point was to "Check Your Lug Nuts!" Good idea once every so often. :yesnod: And don't put Ford parts on your birds! :eek:
 
Brings to mind a question. Do any of you guys put anti-seize on the studs? I never do, just doesn't seem right....... :huh:
 
That's why we have insurance. Sucks, but he should be getting a check. If not,
too bad. Worst nightmare is right.
