I don't like the idea of spending $500.00 for a factory correct bumper jack for my 70RR. So is their an alternative to that jack and is anyone using say a scissor jack or bottle jack and what points underneath are you lifting from??
Thanks!!

Unibody frame rails where they come together behind the front tires and near the front of the leaf spring for tire changes.

Thanks so much...that's what i was thinking to be the strongest points, just need to get a good bottle or scissor jack.

Best places as Bob said are the frame rails where crossmembers connect. Also can lift from under the rear differential, also front crossmember

What is up with the factory jack costing $500.00 for the RR?I guess unless I find one cheaper and feel like I have to have that one,I shall be using a scissor or bottle jack.

I have two 71 plymouths and I stored the bumper jacks years ago. I like this jack that one of my chevy friends showed me and were available at pick and pull. The jack is easy to use, no fluids to leak and is very stable if you lift at the frame or rear end
