Not running the vacuum advance on my 383 rr and never have but may try hooking it up in a few months to see if there is any difference or advantage? If you look closely you can see there is no vacuum hose from the advance diaphram and a lot of people notice it and tell me "your advance hose fell off".....happened just about every time so I put a hose on it (since the photo) and just ran it under the air cleaner to no where
