According the guy the engine was only 600 miles old.
Thats why no warranty.
After engine was taken apart Stage V could tell me , based on the serial number the heads were sold to RBRE in 1996.
The oil pick-up tube was made custom ?? to clear the 4.5" stroke.
Heads had previous damage and the cilinders and combustion chambers that had piston damage had no damage to the valves.
So clearly not happend during my 900 miles I could use the engine.
The damage is so expensive to repair that a new 572 rotating set is cheaper.
Clearly a time where I payed some learning money.
But the heads and block are ok.
Have ordered the 572 set from FHO and the FastMan EFI cam from compcam has been ordered.
I know a couple of folks that are sort of affiliated with RBRE. One guy bought their racing chassis a few years ago and I think he is now an NHRA record holder. I almost built an engine with them but had second thoughts at the time. I wanted a hemi but wasn't ready to commit that kind of money then. I have since heard some negative stuff in spite of the fact that they are a big name outfit. On the other hand I haven't heard anything negative about FHO. I bought quite a lot of stuff from him when I put my Roadrunner together.
sucks about the guardrail Dutch, but at least you had it out pounding on it. Could have lost it without it coming out of the garage. You built it, you can fix it!
Just a 15 inch dent/scratch.
Got Lucky , 2 lane road and was 90 degrees sideways on the right side and saved it almost in time.
2 cars around me so was realy Lucky.
Ma Mopar looked after me.
