Grill color

Can any one out there tell me what the correct color is on the grill in the inserts on the hood

non air grabber=black, air grabber=red. But there has been some talk about black air grabber screens on very early 69's.

Why was there a difference in color

Air grabber were screens and non air grabber were blank ribbed inserts. To the best of my knowledge the screens were painted R4 and the blanks satin black (not textured organisol like the hood stripes).
