Hello everyone...new to the board, came over from Moparts (can I say that here?). My name is Scott and I live in southern New Jersey. I have owned my project Road Runner since 1996 (I was 21 at the time!). Past Mopars I've owned include a '69 Dodge Polara 500 383-2 convertible and a '78 Magnum GT with T-Tops and factory CB radio.

About the car...It's a Y2 Sunfire Yellow 383 4-speed convertible. NOM but trans numbers do. Black top, black bench seat interior. Few options, but has a factory tach, the A31 3.91 HP Axle Package, Road Wheels, and AM radio. Manual steering and manual drums. Has the original fender tag and ownership history back to day one when it was purchased new at Reedman Chrysler-Plymouth. Has had a pistol grip in it since 1970 when the original owner swapped it in.

I added the wood-grain steering wheel, pedal dress-up package, and factory ashtray and glovebox lamps (no light package on this car: ever try and find something in the glovebox at night? You'd have to pull up under a street light and put the top down!) but left all else original. Still a project and needs finishing but runs and drives very well. 383 rebuild .030 over with a mild cam, trans rebuilt w/Centerforce Dual Friction clutch, rear rebuilt with Richmond gears and new bearings and seals. New 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust with "H" pipe (TTI), Flowmaster 40 Deltas and stainless tips. Brakes and lines all new, fuel lines and tank all new. Legendary interior skins, new carpet, new top. All the difficult bodywork has been completed and includes new trunk floor, extensions, and left quarter panel. The floors were nearly perfect and I painted the underside of the car the body color and undercoated it. There's a lot more, but that gives you all an idea of what I'm working with. I am here to read and learn, so I will probably be mostly lurking about. I will try and add pics if there is any interest.

Regards,
Scott

Welcome aboard Scott!

Sounds like a neat ride - used to have one very similar except for a column-shift 727 and 3.23s - throw some pics up; we love car porn...

Interesting how moparts has become a four letter word on so many forums...and I'll leave my comments at just that...

Don't be a lurker - there's no fun in that. Jump in, stir the pot. Everyone here loves to joke around and have fun. As for reading and learning, we're all here for the same reasons...

Scott...well, nevermind...you'll figure it out on your own...

And if one of the "picture hounds" refers to his car as "green", even though it's yellow...just nod and agree... :yesnod:

Thanks, everyone for the warm welcomes. I suppose I have to dig up a few pictures for you guys. I will jump in every now and again, I'm just not super active on the computer.

McMopar - not really too nice yet, but it's a work in progress. My aim is a nice driver or fun weekend cruiser.

Where do you live Scott? I live in Philly and hang out with a pretty big South Jersey mopar crowd.

I live in Bridgeton, but I used to live in Washington Township years ago. In the past, the car has been to the local Fuddrucker's Friday gig in Turnersville and also to a few of the "Cruise Down Memory Lane" shows on Landis Avenue in Vineland. We probably know quite a few of the same people! By the way, if that's your girl in the trunk of your car, then you're a lucky guy!

I've read a little bit about this blue vs. green car thing...I just wonder how does yellow quite fit in?

Actually, my car was caught outside my parent's house in Washington Twp. and then somehow wound up on the carsinbarns website. So, it does have some notoriety, lol. Here it is under wraps in the street:

Since then, I've bought a house with a garage so that is where the car sleeps these days.

Since I am on my work computer, I only have a couple of pics of the car available at the moment. Here is one from the 2004 Mopar Car-B-Que...

That's all mine is. I've always wanted it to look decent and run well and I've finally gotten it to that point. It could stand some freshening up but for now it will do.
