I69 intake question

I want to use the original fresh air hood system with original air cleaner, do I need to use stock intake for height or has someone figured out aluminum intake options? Crazy what they want for these things.

Now looking to. Use a 440, has anyone converted from 383 to 440 ant still used the shaker? What did you have to do to make it work? 440 with stock intake is 3/4 inch higher than 383 with stock intake. Any help would be appreciated

The air cleaner base that goes to the carburetor would need to be changed but it should be the same otherwise sure others will chime in

It's just the base - you can cut a 383 down to 440 height and I figure you can space a 440 up to fit a 383.

I've got a fiberglass base hanging on the wall that I bought years ago. I cut it to the correct height (had a Holley Street Dominator manifold on a 440) but it was way too "floppy" to satisfy me. I eventually used a drop-base aircleaner that would fit inside the hood pieces and did without sealing things to the hood.
