Mig welder?

Well it's time for me to get a mug welder. Looking for any advice and suggestions on what to get? To use mostly as an all around welder for the house and cars.

i have good luck with lincoln.....my first one was a sp 155.....runs on 220..a dryer plug...then i upgraded to a sp 180.....the small ones that run on 110 as far as i am concerned is crap......you could spend 600-800 bucks.....this is what i have

To go with what George said I got the 140 weld pack from home depot and for the money I'm very pleased with it for a 110v unit, but if you have a bunch of welding lined up and ready to go it will cycle for a cool down on heavy metal after 15 minutes of use which isn't bad for me I usually have small jobs. On lighter metal I have yet to over heat it

It a peirs, ur Ought to Core ect Got U a gain! Great Post guys. I am pretty partial to my Lincoln Weld-Pak 100 with the gas conversion to run non flux cored wire. Works awesome on body steel, unibodys, and exhaust. It will work for bigger stuff, but for anything bigger 3/16" and continuous duty, I would go with the 220 versions. I bet I can make a bubble-gum weld better than any of ya! Maybe that is why my buddies call me Junking Johnny! Avoid Extension cords too with 110 welders! Don't ask me how I know that.:yesnod:

I'm a Lincoln guy too. had a weld Pac 100, liked it for what it was. Wish I bought the 220 machine. sold it now I have a square wave tig175 and I love it.

I am currently using a Hobart 135 that my son brought home from the school shop. It is an extra machine that they don't need so they say take it. Work's great and hope to maybe buy it from them. It also is 110 v welder but I have no problem welding with it.

I bought a Hobart Handler out at Tractor Supply last year.

I have a Lincoln 220mw for the MIG work. I have had it for 20 years it has to be the best tool I have ever bought not one lick of trouble and it welds beautifully. I also bought a Miller Synchrowave 200 for TIG and it too is an excellent piece. I dont think you can go wrong with either of those brands. A good friend has a Hobart and swears by it. Clear as mud
