During my restoration project, lots of "old school" guys I meet just love to talk about the 69 RR. Many of them say "those old big block Mopars are very torkie engines." Not sure I spelled "torkie" right, but what exactly do they mean? I have a VERY basic idea of "torque" and "horsepower" and don't want to beat a dead horse, but what does that mean? Is there any truth to it?
For example, a couple guys at the bar one night said "those old Mopars are better in the 1/4 mile than many cars with more horsepower because of how torkie they are." Of course, I'm paraphrasing, but you get the idea.
Any thoughts?
Have a great day!!
