Ron, I think that I talked to you briefly at Carlisle under the tent where Steve (RoadCuda) had his RR. I saw your car later that day and knew it had to be yours. I didn't see another B7 Droptop at Carlisle. Looked good.

I met so many people that day. Pretty sure my car was the only B7 convertible. There were some really nice Drop Tops there though, I was humbled. I only did a day trip up and back on Saturday. Big mistake on my part as I would have liked to seen more. There were so many Roadrunners 68-69 vintage which is my favorite. No offense meant to the other model year owners, a Roadrunner is a Roadrunner and I love them all. Ralph from Mopar's in Motion agreed to let my car be one of the featured cars for the 50-year anniversary celebration and walk around. I was a little nervous as my car is far from concours, not matching numbers, and in several respects not correct, such as the N96 code is not on my fender tag. Plus spending the day and seeing what was there, many were way nicer than what I have. But the guest speakers were very kind and it was clear it wasn't a judging kind of thing. It was truly a celebration of the cars. At the celebration I was parked next to a survivor 68, a 69 six pak 440 with the lift off hood and a Superbird.

Thanks man. Like most of us, my connection to this car goes back to when I was a teenager. Not this specific car, but I had one similar when I was 17. In 1973 I paid $700 for a T5 Convertible with a black top and bench seat interior, 3-speed automatic on he column. Made the money from collecting $300 on an insurance settlement when some lady T-boned my 59 Ford Fairlane my Grandpa gave me when I turned 16. The rest came from working as sweep up boy in a saw mill where they made pallets. My Dad and I prepped it and had it sprayed Y2. Added a Air Grabber from a totaled GTX. Drove that thing from high school through college. It finally rotted away underneath me. Western PA and later West Virginia winters with no garage and no money to keep it up, had to let it go. I suppose this one wound up in the crusher, maybe the engine was salvaged, it still ran decent. So having this car has always been something I wanted.
