On my Formula S the AM band will not work on either the original, or after market radio I put in. The FM band works fine. After some moving around of the antenna, I found that in certain positions the AM will work. Also, anytime I hold the antenna with a bare hand it pulls in the reception, but if I hold it with a reg, it does not. I'm assuming it's probably a ground problem, but I can't figure out how to fix it. I tried cleaning around the inside of the mounting hole, and tried adding some wire wrapped around antenna base to help ground it, but neither worked. Any ideas?

My guess would be the braid or "shielding" of the coax has a bad connection at the antenna connector. I think they used Motorola plugs just like your RR.

So I guess I need to replace it then.

I fixed mine with a new connector from radio shack. Had to undo everything and access it from the inside of the open passenger door. Just barely had enough coax to pull it out and solder on a new connector. Might be easier to get a new piece of coax with connectors already installed and just replace the whole thing all the way to the radio.
The reason I did it that way is because that was a lot easier for me than crawling under the dash and unhooking the whole thing. I think it would be easier for me to pull a tranny than crawl under the dash because of my stupid back.

That's true, but there are a few stations that I like, one of which has the best weather forecasters around and yeah, I know that's not possible, but these guys are right more often then not.
