It is most likely a replacement block. Most 69 cars got blocks that were cast in 1966 they made way to many of them back then. Any assembly date stamped on the flat near the distributor, that would tell the tale.

Looks like a good usable piece to me. Was this a running/driving engine before you tore it down? Have pressure checked for any casting issue for leaks. Nothing wrong with having a sleeve or two if they were done correctly. Hell, I have some racing buddies that all 8 holes are sleeved.

it runs when it came out but smokes like hell done some pressure testing now looks oke
will have a total rebuild in the coming weeks

I think my 440 came out of a camper or a bus

That is very possible dmartin. Sgt Lee took one out of a camper to put into a charger. So like the history of the 383 it was put into all kind's of service. As long as it runs drive it.

Hello seems to bee some coolant leeks in the block who where badly fixed in the past
This is fixed now have the new pistons waiting for the machine shop to bore and sleeve

Sounds like your getting it done Oscar. Know you will be glad when it is done. I feel your pain buddy. Every time I turn around finding more things I did not think I would have to buy. Keep at it and it will all work out. :thumbsup2:
