Roadrunner/gtx difference

Roadrunner came standard with 4-spd, GTX with automatic. If you ordered a 4-spd GTX, you got a Dana axle package with 3:54, or 4:10. Couldn't get factory A/C as an option on a 4-spd GTX, just like hemi rr. Fuel lines are 3/8" vs 5/16" for 383 rr. Don't know about the later models, but this trivia applies to the '68s and '69s I've owned. As mentioned by others, the GTX package gave you bits and pieces from the hemi cars as standard equipment (plus the big torque 440), one big reason I ended up owning these when I couldn't afford a hemi roadrunner (still my favorite of the two).
 
GTX got you fancier interior, woodgrain dash I do believe. more chrome trim on the outside, rockers, wheel moldings.And you got the 440 4 barrel if you wanted, road runner was 383 or Hemi, except for the '69 1/2 440 6 barrel and the 440 6 barrel for '70.after '70 the GTX was moved to largely a tag onto the road runner.

The 440 was standard equipment in the GTX ('67 to '72) while the 440/6bbl and the 426 Hemi was optional.(depending on the year) One other very subtle difference between the Road Runner and the GTX, besides the grille and trim pieces, is that they have different tail light housings. While the shape is the same, the GTX housings inset the lense back about two inches where the Runner's lenses are flush.

The '69 GTX 4-speed came standard with a Dana and the 3.54 axle package, the 4.10 ratio was extra. DAMHIK :pride:

4.10 was an option. Pretty sure the 68-69 runners used a 3/8 fuel pickup to a 5/16 line and the A12 had the same setup with a 1/4 return. The Hemi was the only one with 3/8 to the pump until 70
