What's the tallest tire that will fit a stock '69 RR rear wheel opening - stock ride height, stock axle location ?? Real world experience only - no guessing !!

You have to remember that the roadrunner wheel tub comes to a peak at the top. Not flat like most car's. So by increasing the height you are pushing the width up into that area. Thus wheel rub will happen. Their is a wheel calculation on the web for various car's. Take a look.

Depends on how WIDE, I'm sure you can put a real tall skinny tire under it. What are you after?

Poke your head in you wheelwell and you'll see that the the top of the tub isn't the issue. The front of the tub and the lip of the quarter panet are the closest points to any tire you put in there. If the tire clears the front lip it will clear everywhere else.

This tub should fit a 15" wide tire but I need to know what the tallest is that will clear the front lip.

this is a 27” tall tire on a 8” rim. From the Center of the hub cap to the front was almost 16” bang on. So 15.5” x 2 = 31” to be safe is my guess.
