I installed a shroud with an electric fan. It was 108 degrees F here yesterday, and this is as high as my gauge got. It was driven and then left to idle. Too high????
Mine was running at around 180-190. But after replacing a cracked head it gets around 200 and 210. I would like to get the temp. back down to at least 180 driving and 200 in stopped traffic. Putting new 440 source heads on now and a new Holley brawler carburetor. Hope this solves my temp. problem.
I changed to an 18-inch mechanical flex fan, Milodon high-flow water pump and thermostat, and a stock-style shroud. I had to trim the shroud a bit to get it to fit on my aluminum radiator, but it has tons of airflow now and runs very cool.
