What to put in before installing the carpet

Think every thing is in the car now. So should I put the dimer switch in before the carpet or after it is in. Have seen you should cut the carpet for the console mounting brackets. So any suggestion's would be help full. Tanks.

Did you have the grommet in the carpet for the light switch or did you make an x in the carpet. Have to check mine and see if it came with the grommet. Thanks for the info. Russ.

Install dimmer switch before the carpet , my carpet came with the grommet in the box, I had to install it myself. Be very careful cutting near your wires that plug into the dimmer switch.

This is what the grommet looked like before I cut the carpet, it has a lip on it so you can fit the carpet in it.

Thank you for the picture of the dimmer switch I thought it went there but I was not for sure.
