I'm pretty sure the guy that owns that 68 vert also owns a blue 69 Roadrunner convertible with white interior and top. It's one of the nicest (and only) Roadrunner convertibles in my area. His son had a matching blue convertible with him, but sold it last week and acquired a beautiful green 69 Roadrunner convertible that was his fathers car back in the 80's. They took their convertibles to Mike Riehl's (Roseville Moparts) Mopar show and won for 68-70 B body restored.

Nice Score, FridayGT! Glad you got your car! Give us some details when you get a chance.

Whew! Sorry it's been so long folks, I've been pretty busy either at work or crawling all around my new car, Dolores, since I brought her home. She is a '72 Roadrunner. Originally a 400 big block off of the Windsor plant in Canada. She since had a previous owner put GTX badges on her and had an ametuer repaint in 2004. She has the VERY beginnings of surface rust bubbling up in the rear quarters and the corner of one door. She runs a smidge rich and the timing is off a hair, but she runs STRONG. Electrical has been mostly good, all I've had to do was re-wire the highbeam foot switch, re-plug the new high beam bulbs, fix the radio (my bad lol), and am trying to figure out the reverse lights not working. Replaced those bulbs and am going to replace the fuse this morning. If that doesn't get it, I'm pulling the rear bumper and checking the plugs in the back of the light housing... Sigh.... Lol. After that, I'm siphoning the tank and dropping it to replace the tank-to-fill neck grommet, as fumes are leaking through there and gas is sloshing out the back under accelleration. Once that's finished I'm going to try to remedy a crack in the windshield and get her through inspection! Whew! Then, next on the list is re-allignment of the front end as their are new tie rod ends and finally some new tires, as the front driver side tire looks as though someone was getting sideways and hollerin like them Duke Boy's a few times with it... Lol

Here she is, in all her fabulous glory!!!!

Oh, and I snagged her for pretty much exactly my budget.

Looks great!

One thing about the GTX emblems.... Are you sure they were added? The GTX was a Roadrunner package in 72, not a separate car line. The Roadrunner and GTX badges could be correct, especially if that was an original 440 car.

Just food for thought.

It would have a U in the vin and there would be torque boxes if it was a 440 car.

check the netural plug and wires on the trans too.
she's a beauty

Just reread the post and I now see it's a 400 car. Missed it the first time through.
