Question...Where these style wheels avaliable in the '70 model year line up? Or were they just that popular they may have been adopted?

They were available - but only in 14" IIRC. And they are called "Road Wheels". The 15" versions that you see people use all the time (which is actually the Ford Magnum 500) were never available from the factory. Again, IIRC.

IIRC, and I had to start with that.... The Magnum 500 style wheel was not available for the 1970 model year.

Motor Wheel also offered the Magnum 500 wheel as an aftermarket wheel. You could get 14" and 15" wheels.

My 70 runner sports the '69 Magnum 500 wheel....I prefer them. BTW...if one was going to restore them...what silver and black paints are period correct?

It's possible that I'm wrong... You guys know that my expertise stops at 1969 for the Roadrunner... There was a step learning curve for me when I bought my 70 300.

In fact, I just learned about that the 7" road wheels on my 300 are off a 79-81 Diplomat wagon.... How's that???

I didn't say you were wrong...I just opened up the door for further dialog...

But clearly you are not qualified to own the 300. Send it down here and I will relieve you of that burden. You're welcome... :basketcase:

Both rallye and road wheels were options in 1970.

Red front drum and or red rear drum or all (4)....really?

Any car that was coded for road wheels in 1970 had a 2 inch red stripe painted around the drum so it would show through the openings of the wheel. This was done on the assy. line by taking a 2" paint brush and making a complete red stripe around the drum. Runs and drips are common.
