How many of you are armed when you take out your Mopar?

Just curious how many of you fellahs keep a sidearm on you when you take your Runners and other old Mopars out in public. Where I live isn't the safest place and carjacking is something that can happen, particularly with something valuable like a RR. I don't know that I'd feel comfortable taking it out without some protection for stops at the gas station, etc. :chuck:

I would consider relocating if it is that bad. Living in fear is not living, that is just surviving.

I generally carry concealed anyway, because I'm all over the place working. If I'm going to a cruise in my hood I don't. I also carry a spare tire, extra water and tools. I guess I fear allot of things but I don't let it bother me. :cents:

Memphis can be a creepy place. :stab: Things being the way they are these days, it's hard to get out. But it just kind of crossed my mind the other day that I wouldn't really want to take the Plymouth on the streets without some backup.

Over the past couple of years, I carry more often then I don't. And I have a permit.
It's the times that you are unarmed, something happens.
If I am going to a close local cruise, usually I'm not carrying.
If I am going somewhere unfamiliar with the road runner or otherwise, I carry for certain.
If I am going to be drinking, I don't carry, period. :cents:

Well said, and your not protecting your runner your protecting yourself. Of coarse to get my runner your going to have to threaten my life or Stu will kick my butt for loosing it

I never carry. I do think about the people who go into a public place and open fire. Then I think what if......everyone in the place was carrying. I guess those cowards wouldn't do it if they knew they would be shot before they get the second round out. Someone said once that a armed society is a polite society. I believe that.

I've been carrying a lot more lately.

A year ago I had a little scare at a Thruway rest stop where I was "asked" for money. I think I handled the situation well and would not have done anything too different had I been armed. It cost me the $10 I had in my wallet and I figure that was the best way out of what could have been a bad situation. It did get me thinking though.

Recently, Mrs Big John, who never really liked guns, started doing some shooting. My son had a place in the country and he and I decided to do a little target shooting. She tried it and to her suprise, really liked it. She's since applied for her NY gun permit, a process that will take at least six months start to finish. We ended up joining an indoor shooting club just so she could shoot!

But... back to carrying.... One thing I learned was the best defense is to stay away from trouble to begin with.

I couldn't agree more, but sometimes trouble finds you.....and he is armed.

I always carry when I'm out. Going to family sometimes I'll leave it in the car, but I'll always have something available.
