Open them up and take the guts out of the new one and put them in the old one. Bearings are probably fine - just put a few drops of oil on the felts. No need to remove the windings unless you know for sure there's a break in them. Usually the only things that go bad are 1) the brushes wear out...

This tub should fit a 15" wide tire but I need to know what the tallest is that will clear the front lip.

This is a stock tub widened 2". There is no "peak" - not stock, not now.

Poke your head in you wheelwell and you'll see that the the top of the tub isn't the issue. The front of the tub and the lip of the quarter panet are the closest points to any tire you put in there. If the tire clears the front lip it will clear everywhere else.

What's the tallest tire that will fit a stock '69 RR rear wheel opening - stock ride height, stock axle location ?? Real world experience only - no guessing !!
