Picked up a '69 Air Grabber Hood!

Super excited about this local find. Now comes the questions regarding restoration. Do you guys know of any links or videos to restoring the Air Grabber section on this hood? It appears that the brackets holding the whole setup to the hood have some type of rivets that are not removable. But...

    Fast & Furious 7 pics...

A few of the cars that will be in Fast & Furious 7 due out Juneish of next year. One of my buddy's old college friends is a producer for the movie, so he let him come out and play when they were shooting in GA. He told me "not sure you want to see what ends up happening to these Mopars though."...

Hey Folks, I will be converting my RR to a 4-speed. Its currently an auto on the column. With that said, I'm looking to put together a list of all parts that will be needed to do this. Any input/help would be appreciated. 1.) Is there a particular A833 to look for as I know it needs to be...

    Restoration: Certain changes decrease value?

I removed the entire interior (carpet, seats, door cards, etc). Removed all the chrome, front/back glass, bumpers, grill, headlights, etc...getting it ready for the body shop. Having some light metal work done (patching a spot in the rear floor board, and replacing the entire trunk pan. Also...

    Restoration: Certain changes decrease value?

Yes I really think I'm going to leave it the original colors to match with the fender tag. I just see a lot of guys repaint their RR different from the stock color so I was curious about that. I don't see too many B7 with white vinyl tops so I figured it would look good. I'd really like it to...

Wrapping the coil is a good idea! No problem! I know everyone is busy. Now if I could find someone locally to teach me how to weld in patch panels!

Help! RR starts...but won't crank up again

Well I replaced the coil with an Accel Super Coil and it starts and runs great. Let it warm up. Turned it off. Cranked up again just fine! I've done this several times and have not had any problems. So far it seems that the issue was my coil. The new coil is not getting hot at all.

Help! RR starts...but won't crank up again

Sorry! measured at DC! 6 volts coming in at the positive side with ignition key on. You can tell I'm a newb when it comes to eletrical stuff. Sorry about that. Replaced the current coil with an Accel Super Coil. Guess we will see what happens.

Help! RR starts...but won't crank up again

Update Well I replaced the voltage regulator with a newer electronic style. Was hoping this would fix the problem. Nope. I checked the DC and its coming in right at 6 amps at the + side of the coil. But the coil is still getting really hot. So I'm guessing its the wrong coil for the setup...

Help! RR starts...but won't crank up again

Yes, my ballast resistor came with the electronic ignition kit so this was replaced. The wiring is fine. The yellow wire is not melted. Right now the motor starts up just fine on a cold start (the engine fires and runs under its own power). Push the gas pedal once, turn the key and it fires...

Help! RR starts...but won't crank up again

Oh I just realized what you were referring to. You are saying everything was swapped out to be a new electronic ignition ...except for the voltage regulator....which needs to be upgraded to a newer style? Am I understanding that correctly? I was told that the voltage regulator would have nothing...

Help! RR starts...but won't crank up again

Hey Monk, I'm trying to understand your response. So what you are saying is that I have the older style internally grounded alternator with a newer style regulator and this is a big no no? Or do I have an old style ballast resistor? Or an old style voltage regulator? Just a bit confused on...

Help! RR starts...but won't crank up again

That makes sense. I may try that. Or I may just order a completly different coil & resistor.....maybe Accel...which is what I should have done in the first place. I ended up buying some cheaper stuff just to see if the motor would run good before I dumped any time/money into cosmetics.
