    DECODING FENDER TAG

DONE DEAL............. I now know that my 1969 is a SPECIAL ORDER vehicle. The special order came in ORANGE; GREEN and YELLOW. So, I confirmed my suspicion that my car is a truly Omaha orange car. Attached is a better copy of the fender tag. There are only a couple of numbers/letters that I...

Rear window lower stainless steel moulding

The rear window stainless steel molding on my '69 Roadrunner has a screw on both ends to keep the stainless strip mounted. Some genius drilled a hole on each corner of the molding to make sure the strip stays mounted. My question is two part. 1) Can the holes be filled and then polished to...

    DECODING FENDER TAG

I'm NOT able to decode the items circled in RED. I'm guessing that the "H2X" may be the HOOD. I have two black racing stripes on it. Any help highly appreciated.................... LG, Mike

    DECODING FENDER TAG

YES, so far all true. I have a few of the numbers decoded. It is a four speed; air grabber hood; Los Angeles built car. No headrests and the production number being 128303, I assume it is an early 1969. Attached is a better copy of my 'fender tag'. Thanks a bunch, LG, Mike

    DECODING FENDER TAG

Hi, nothing new here. I'm sure this topic has been dealt with before. I'm trying to decode the fender tag. NOT that big of a deal of what it stands for because I'm NOT going to change anything on my jewel. I'm just curious as to what I really have. I have the VIN decoded. Attached is a lousy...

    M21 code. 69RR

I'm NO expert by any means. In fact, I'm trying to decode my '69RR. I have the same numbers on your last row. The way I read it is the E63 is a 383ci 335Hp; D21 is for four speed; RM23 is for HARD TOP, mine is RM21 for the COUPE; H9G is for 383ci, 1969 year, G plant. Mine is E for Los...

    Spark Plug -

YES, for quite some time now my wife shuts the front door and turns on the ceiling fan and lets me know how much the car is stinking up the house when I first start it. She's a lot more sensitive to the carburetor smell than I am........................................LOL I may be visiting the...

    Spark Plug -

Thanks for your response. I decided to go with a hotter plug and installed AP 86 with a .050 gap. I last replaced the plugs April 2017 and have not put too many miles on the car. I'm pretty sure the plugs indicate carb running too rich rather than an oil issue. This motor has less than 5K...

    Spark Plug -

What is the best spark plug to use on a 1972 400CI motor with Comp 268 high energy cam; 346 casting heads; Edelbrock performance RPM intake; 3310 Holley 750 cfm carb; and MSD Street Fire ignition. Also, what should the spark plug gap be. Attached are pictures of the Autolite AP 85 spark plugs...

    WATER BASE PAINT- omaha orange

Has anyone had a positive result using a water base paint to touch up a rear fender small repair. I'm trying to match the body of my 1969 Roadrunner Omaha orange paint color. It is a small repair and the water base paint I purchased does NOT seem to match. It also seems to come off fairly...

    NUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH

I finally took care of my transmission leak. It was coming from the Neutral Safety Switch. It appears that the NSW does NOT come with the "O" ring that is required to make it function properly. The NSW vendors ONLY supply the switch and the CUPPED washer that houses the "O" ring. NEEDLESS to...

    Electrical issue:1969 roadrunner

The FUEL gauge saga continues............. I decided to install an after market gauge. I still plan on getting the stock in dash gauge working as well. Solved the question of whether one can run two gauges off of the one sending unit. YES, you can using a double pole toggle switch. One can...

    RTE IVR4 dash limiter

_________________ Not my picture. But yes, the CENTER pin is the 12V input; the LEFT pin is for the 5V OUTPUT and the far right is the GROUND. If you are using the SOLID STATE limiter, there is NO need to run the condensor. Attached is a picture of the solid state limiter I upgraded to. LG, Mike

    RTE IVR4 dash limiter

ANS: You are looking at it. The ONLY thing between the two hose clamps fastening the copper wire and the one hose clamp at the bottom is the FUEL hose. This contraption replaces the snap on flat metal strap. I purchased one of those straps a few years back and it was way too short.......it...

    RTE IVR4 dash limiter

I had a chance to work on the RR today. I compared the old limiter to the new one and the prongs are exactly the same width and length. I just did not have it plugged all the way in. I tested the sender with the wire removed and the gauge moved all the way to full. I then installed some good...
