Too much travel on the brake pedal is alarming if you ask me. At the most may be 2 inches or so is fine but 6 inches is out of the question. Had one car that the brake pedal went almost to the floor and was hard as hell to brake. The power booster had failed had to rebuild it. The diaphragm had split. Yes it was an old car and should had been serviced in a timely manner. But when young you don't think of these thing's. Just drive the hell out of it. :steering:Thing's like this give no warning. Till it goes south on you.

Improper freeplay can hold compensation port in m/c. Causing low pedal. Most over looked vac booster to m/c rod. Just a thought
