Hey guys, just a heads-up. Finances around the household have been in the crapper lately and if things don't improve I may be forced to sell the bird. The next 2 months will be critical in determining if I can keep it. My wife was in the hospital a few months back and we had to eat some of those bills and now I have a skin cancer on my nose that will need some surgery to remove. Plus bills this month have hurt and those due next month will take more from the savings. Business for me is way off from last year with no improvement in sight. I'm going to try and find some kind of work - anything - but the employment outlook in Orlando really stinks right now. I know some of you fellows are praying guys so if you wouldn't mind remembering us I'd really appreciate it. It is getting down to the wire and the only asset I have that can solve our financial situation is the road runner. I sold it once before and I can do it again but I really don't want to have to go there.

John - sorry to hear of all that confronts you. I know I'll be thinking of you guys. Hopefully you'll find something and won't have to part company with your beloved bird.

I'm sorry to hear that John. I hope everything improves for you and your wife and so you don't have to sell your bird.

I hope things improve so you don't have to sell her.
Either way, take care of yourself and family, you will be in my prayers.
It will get better.

Really sorry John, I hope it doesn't come to selling that beautiful RR. Keep your hopes up, maybe things will improve. You are in my thoughts and prayers over here. After all, you are the guy that gave me the "deputy decal nazi" name. I'll always remember that, great fun at the time. Best of luck.......Jim

John,

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble. Things are really bad now and are getting better only slowly. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

your in our thoughts and prayers John. I admit I've thought of maybe selling mine. With the Mrs not able to work, it's really tight. She's applied for disability, and our daughter is gonna take over her car payments in a couple months, so things should ease up.
Take care of you and your Wife. If it does come down to letting the car go, please don't be a stranger. This place is one in a million, and you don't have to have a road runner in the garage to belong.

Hang in there, in Wisconsin hospital bills can be payed no intrest on a payment plan, I'm broke as a joke and still paying $33 a month for the birth expenses on my 3 year old son with alot more payments to go. Point is try to get them to accept as little as possible every month and who cares how long it takes to pay it off whats the rush (BTW I used to not think like that) the important thing is I still have everything and my Wife works part time and has time for raising our son now. Good luck John.

hospital bills? back in 1993, Amber decidied to show up four months early. She was in the hospital in Pittsburgh from April 1, to August 11. It cost $2500 a day for her just be be in her incubater, then crib. That wasn't the doctor, ust room and board basically. When she came home, the bil was over $750,000, which my insurance paid all but $1200. There was a guy where I worked tht had a baby about the same time, born with a heart problem that requied surgery, around $500,000 for his baby.. They paid that. Our insurance had a lifetime cap of 1 million.after the two of us, they dropped the cap to half a million.
We got a health card for Amber thru Ohio, but you had to incur $1000 of medical bills each month before they would issue the card. She came home on O2 until she was a year old. She had to have her tonsils and adnoids out before she was two, they had grown so much she was having breathing trouble. So in a couple of years, I had a stack od medical bills a mile high. $5 a month when we could, shuffle the deck, and start over the next month. Four of us, and I was making $8 an hour. Never had any harrasing collection calls about the medical bills. Gotta have a roof over your head and food on the table. The doctor bills can wait.

Your health has to come first. Without that you have nothing. Make sure you get that skin cancer taken care of right away before it spreads. The cars can, and will, come and go. You, as well as all of my Road Runner brothers, are in my prayers everyday.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. But like droptop said, your health is paramount! There's always another Road Runner but only one of you! I hope it doesn't get to selling it, but if you do, know that you're doing it for a really good reason!

I had to sell my first droptop back in 98 to get out of financial troubles. It took a long time to get another, but I wouldn't trade the peace of mind I got from taking care of business for anything.

A car is just a car! The memories stay when the metal goes away.

I can understand the health issues. I have had some problems this spring and summer. The main reason I haven't been on here much.Ihad a small stroke( TIA) basically a stroke with no damage. THe good part is that i am ok now but it does make one stop and think........after all health is wealth. The good part about being Canadian is that all of this ........ER treatment, Specialists etc is all included in our health care..................and minimal wait. I had cat scans and ultrasounds witin days. I also had skin cancer a few years ago.............the middle one in severity...2 surgeries to get it all............Now I go to a dermatologist regularly to keep a check on it................BUT you have to be your own health advocate and push a it As the guys have said without you health you have nothing. and as we get older we realize it more..............by the way on a lighter note I have a set of new wheels.......not sure it will be welcome here though.............Hint...............2 seater foreign!!!!!
