Since this seems to be turning into a wish list, I'd like a '65 Barracuda Formula "S", 4-speed, and I'd take a Superbird, but to be different I'd look for a 4bbl 440l! And maybe a '69 RR convert. And then there's...... well there ain't enough money to get 'em all!!!

Oh I'm happy with what I have, I'm just saying I'd take one over a wing car. Wing cars are cool, there are others I prefer. :jester:

Straight Axle---Back in 74,I was looking for a RR. I found a 69 RR in the San Jose Mercury News. I called on it,the guy told me it had a 426 . He was asking $1800.00 for it.It was more than I had. I went to look at it anyway. When I pulled into the guys yard,my jaw dropped. He was a pleasant fellow. He told me he was the second owner. The original owner, right after purchasing the car, went out and spent 4000.00 bucks on suspension and engine mods. The car had a chrome tube straight axle, chrome ladder bars, chrome diff cover. It had Hooker headers ,a bigger cam,Accel Dualpoint. Stock airgrabber setup. The car sat perfectly level.I remember standing next to the engine "drooling",my elbow resting on the fender.I was not bent over, that's how tall it was.I am 6'2" uh -I was.
He fired it up,it sounded great.I test drove it.It had brake upgrades also,as I remember almost sending the fellow into the windshield. That hemi roared when you wound it out a little.Nothing like the sound of a Hemi . F--- Yaaaa !!
The car was what I describe as Rootbeer Brown ? Black bench interior. It had the deluxe interior. It was a 4 speed, with a 410 Dana.
There was a Performance shop somewhere in the Ca. Bay Area that was a specialist in straight axles. I wish I knew the name of it.I wish I could find the car ! Anyway, that is what I would build if I had the money.

Anybody out there know The paint code for what looks like rootbeer brown ?

I have a paint chart and it dosen't list any browns at all. Is there another way to describe that color you saw on that car?

It was either T5 Bronze Fire Poly or T7 Saddle Bronze Poly. Check out the colors here:

Since I made a lot of people mad naming the cars I don't like, I will agree with you, I would love to have a 1965 Barracuda Formula "S" (red with black interor). I also would love to have a 1962 Plymouth Max Wedge car (Red with any color interior). If anyone knows where there is one of the above, I have a real nice 1966 Coronet 500 (red with black interior and a black vinyl roof) I will trade.
