Don't know if you can see the location but this is a "survivor" '69 F8 Hemi road runner but not sure if the decal is original just guessing it might be...

Given the current economic conditions you could probably buy that car today for $100K. I'll pitch in $100. Now you only need $99,900 more...you're practically headed down to the DMV for a title transfer already... :D

Just teasing, Dave. :yesnod: The stratospheric pricing of some of the more collectible RRs would certainly explain why I have a primered A12 with a toasted interior instead of one bought off of the showroom floor at Best Of Show Automotive...as I don't have that kind of jack either...

you haven' seen mine up close....have you? I feel your pain brother. And that's why this one was in primer, and had half an interior, but did I ave fun with it!

One of these days I'm gonna have to swap the Cragars off of my Duster and put them on Bambi - just so I can take a picture for Basketcase... They do look good with a set of Cragars...

Gonna need a set of LHT lugs for those wheels though...

Back in the day when they were coming down the assembly line those guys weren't too picky about where they installed things - especially depending on what day of the week it was (Mon. or Friday). I've seen worse.

What really kills me is to see the bird placed up on the front fender of a '69 road runner ala the 1970 model. Man, I hate to see that! (and yes, Virginia, I have seen that done :loco: )

 I hate radical changes like that. I'll add this one- door birds installed on the INSIDE of the door.

I've actually thought about that... There was a guy around here with a custom painted Ford that had a red stripe on one side and a green one on the other. It took me a while to pick up on it and a lot of people never noticed it at all.

I have done it with hub caps several times.

Hello, well after reading through this and looking at the survivor hemi and those oem birds with the tab on them, I'm still not quite sure where to stick them. I got up the courage today and removed my old door birds that were put on way too low and always bugged me. I got lucky and did not hurt the paint. I have a set of new ones (with no tab), and ready to put them on. To me it looks like 1/2 inch from the "R" and the dust trail centered on the "R". Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks............Jim

The 1/2" is good, but it lays just a little bit above the center line of the R...... :yesnod:

Thanks for posting the pics so fast. I didn't want to start a fight here now, so I will split the difference between Bob and McMopar so we can call them both right. Thanks, guys....Jim
