Nice project. Buckets look like GM units. I saw the hump on the tunnel...putting a four-speed back in it...I hope... :D

:jester:
Oh it's definitely getting a 4 speed. All my cars are manual :D

Checked out the seats one more time. I guess they wont work unless I where to drill the floor (Not happening) So I guess I'm in the market for some frame rails/seats New or used. Anybody know if they make good repop guage cluster? or is finding an original in good condition the only way? and what about a steering shaft. Are those remade or is that another part I have to hunt down? My steering box is all intact. Someone took the shaft/wheel/column :toetap:

Put some more work into the roadrunner today. Just still stripping and cleaning the interior. But progress is progress :)

Was really happy with the way it came out. No cancer at all. Barely any surface rust. Although two of the plug holes in the floor look like they got cut open or some shit. But that'll be an easy fix. Just hammer it back in place and weld it.

Re: Finally bought myself a 69 Roadrunner project. My dream

Went up to knotts scary farm with the gf. Swooped by my dads and picked up some stuff
photo5vj.jpg

Also while I was at my dads I snapped a pic of the 383 Engine for the roadrunner. 5 hours on it from the factory. Way back in 1970 My grandfather worked in detroit on all the big mopar cars and got this out of my dads roadrunner. Had a pinhole in the block where coolant would spill out(Easy fix). Chrysler replaced my dads motor and let them keep this one. Was suppose to go in my grandfathers truck but he never got to it. All the internals are brand new including the block/heads. Just been sitting in the garage for 30-40 years :lmao: Also a 455 back there somewhere

Put the cap back on (keeps animals out)
photo34e.jpg

Pulled this off the dash and worked some magic on it
photo35a.jpg

Pulled the upper and lower dash off. Cleaned the dash up
photo36n.jpg

Got anxious and sanded all the primer off. Found one cancer spot but everything else was good

Re: Finally bought myself a 69 Roadrunner project. My dream

Thanks. Yeah my dad's still around. He said if I let him drive it when I'm done I wont ever see it again :lmao:
Did a little more dent and rust hunting today .You guys think this trunk is save able? This dent on the body line looks like it's be pretty tough to get straight. I was thinking of cutting the back bracing inside the trunk out to get to it and try and hammer dolly it out?
Here's the trunk. Someone tried to pull it out already but didn't do that great of a job

I think someone had something mounted on the trunk. 2 symmetrical holes on each side of the trunk. Dents around them.

someone had a spoiler mounted on that trunk lid. as far as being saved, I'm not a body man, back here we deal with rust, out there you get the dents.
