because the stripes go on the hood...not the engine. and here all these years I thought you were one of the smart guys here.....

Yep, stripes were optional... except you couldn't get the stripes on a 440 engine 1969 Roadrunner.

OK, do you know why?

Because it would be like looking at a green car on a lawn, you just cant see them :lol:

Acme had his hand up first. He can 'splain it.

Because the only 440 available in a RR in 1969 was the M-Code 440-6 Barrel found in the A12 package and that package included the black fiberglass liftoff hood with the giant scoop and the air cleaner that sealed to the hood. No need for an Air Grabber and no need for black stripes. :banana:


I've been out of pocket for a few days and was surprised to see that this topic was still open. :jester:
