Just out of curiosity while you had the pump off and the pan off did you happen to blow air through the pump holes to the pick up? Just to make sure there is flow from there if so it makes send the reverse is good. Sound alike blockage in the block / bearing passages I would pull the motor and give it a refresh why fight it? If you can't get any pressure or oil up to the rocket shaft you have blockage internally period.

Current thought is have some kind of hole in the pickup tube breaking the suction. So just waiting on the new oil pan to take it back apart. The internal area near where the pickup tube enters block needed clearance due to the stroker crank. Possible problem there. Will find out soon.

I had to do that with my 493 kit surprisingly my 440 already was threaded for the bigger tube.

You say your tight on number three connecting rod. So their is not much clearance between the pic up tube and number three connector rod. If that is what you are saying then I under stand. The JB weld was kind of a joke. But some people use it for every thing. We have used it on air boat oil pumps when they wear out. Smear it in side and spin the propeller. Pull the propeller out clean it up and wait over night then reinstall it. This is just a quick fix when we lose oil pressure and have to shut the motor down out on the lake. It will get it home so you can put a new one on. Hope you get her fixed. Some times the simplest thing can happen. Good luck. Russ. :thumbsup2:

pulled pan and pickup on Sun. pickup tube is clear, no apparent holes to lose suction. put milodon road race pan with external pickup on engine and reinstalled center link of steering. discovered oil pump for external pickup is thicker than regular one. CRAP. Off to hardware store for longer bolts!!

It's Ok I will shed a tear for you. I have been to the point where I wanted to shoot something but refrained. You will get it their is something where missing and it is rite in front of our face. If you know what I mean. Now I am finding that my AMD after market part's come with rust. So more sanding and rust proofing brand new sheet metal. Wish we lived close enough that I could come over and give you a hand with the motor. I love a challenge but starting to ware thin so probably will start working on the K member to take my mind off the body work. Russ. :kartman: Or just have a cold one. :drinks:

WOW!!!!! Quickbird. Now I know why you got problem's. We build a Street dragger so we would not burn up our date car's or every day driver's. The Duster with a 440 bored to the max and full race cam. Is the one we had the cracked oil pick up tube in. :steering:
