I
Ive only been to San Francisco once and if you are driving make sure the place you stay has parking. Public transportation is the only way to get around because there is no place to park and get out to look. I wish we had bought tickets to Alcatraz ahead of time I really wanted to see it but it books up several days out.
I copped the same thing, only in San Fran for a few days, Alcatraz tour booked out for 2 weeks in advance.

Hello everyone of you bird and Mopar lovers.
I wish you all the best for this new year and your families.

Just got back from my trip to the US, what a cool journey it was! 2000 miles round trip in 14 days. We've seen a lot during those days.
Saw a few Mopars two 68 coronet 4 doors, a 70 satellite, 70 charger 383 auto floor shift, few hellcats both Challengers and Chargers etc.
64 or 65 ply fury.

We arrived for Christmas to LA, stayed there for 2 days, then drove through big sur road to San Francisco.
New years eve in San Francisco was really cool at the fisherman's wharf. The hotel with the FREE parking was great and well located in the city! I was 20 min walk distance from Lombard street, and 30-35 min walk distance from the fisherman's wharf.

Then went to Tahoe lake pretty cool too out there.
going down in CA via Yossemite and sequoia park.
And we drove straight to Joshua tree after that, where we saw a Cougar (not the car the animal lol) it was awesome!

I also took the advantage of being across the pond to bring back some parts for the car.

Yes we did cover some ground.

That's true Russ, too much to see! The mountain, desert, sea, lakes etc etc too much places to go! Yes I've heard of that bike week in Daytona, that is something I'd like to do. My dad used to ride a 93 HD Fatboy with a cab, now has a 2011 Fatboy special. That is something we have to do. I'll let you know the day we'll go there so perhaps we can meet out there.

I hope I will and sounds like I'm going to be back soon. I am planning on going to the NATS this year for its 40th anniversary.
Does anyone here is going this for 2020? Maybe Quikbird?

Chrysler Nationals (Carlisle, PA) will be celebrating it's 50th year this summer. Last year there were a record 2,803 cars in the show field. The A12 display was really impressive. Ran into a whole pile of guys & gals from this forum last summer and had a great time. I'm sure there will be some kind of Superbird display and other cars who turn 50.

I will certainly be there. I live about 20 miles (30 km?) from there. we usually drive over each day. Usually have an extra pass or two between coyote and myself. if you are coming over, look forward to seeing you here.

Yes that is correct Quikbird.
Last time I've been there I met some guys from the FBBO forum, had a beer with them when they offer us a shelter during hard rain!

Just a quick update on the bird.
The car is still at the paint shop, can't wait to have it back!

During that time we did the assembly of the Magnum Force front end. I wasn't really happy by the screws that were delivered with the kframe. The grip length doesn't go all the way through the LCA bushing, thread length started almost half-way of the bushing didn't like that.
It was really hard to find new ones, the one we found were aeronautic type screws. Luckily my dad is working in overhauling maintenance for Boeing 777, and we finally ended up by doing custom made aircraft quality build screws. Now the grip length goes all the way through and it fits just right.
We even added a rod to biff up the rear of the K frame. Also had made cool transfer stickers that we put on the Kframe to finish it up.

Here are some pics :
The new screws, forgot to put the "Magnum force" screws next to them before installation. Also replaced the rubber bushing with urethane one that I bought during my trip in CA.
From the top :
- The first bolt is for the LCA, diameter reduction in the grip length is for the rear were the rod is attached. The diameter fits the inner diameter of the rod eye.
- The second one is for the rack and pinion bushing
- The third one with button head is for the LCA and we made it button head so the boot from the rack and pinion can "slide" on it without getting torn apart.
- The fourth one is for the upper coil over attached point.
- The fifth one is for the lower coil over attached point.
The fourth is longer than the fifth because on the upper we have the billet aluminum adapter that is fixed on the shock tower. The screw goes through the billet aluminum and the shock that is why the grip and overall lengths are different.

Was not that easy to explain hope it is clear, if you have any question please ask if I wrote something that is not English lol

and yes those screws are only for one side.

be careful with that new back bar and your oil pan. there can be some interference issues that area.

Absolutely right, that is why the bolt is not torqued yet, when we will put the engine will see if there is any interference, and if there is then we'll remove it. Hope it there won't be any, kinda like our little upgrade lol

I’ve seen the Magen Force K member used to install late a model Hemi in B bodies and the quality seemed well made.

From what I saw before painting it, welds seemed to be well made with good heat penetration. They looked solid and nice.

No Pain no gain so they say. I think you have a good handle on most of what you have done so this should not be a problem either. Sixtynine_Bird. :thumbsup2:
