I used an 1/8".
I was taught that from an old mopar drag racer who swore by it.
He was the guy on my block when I was a "kid" that was constantly changing motors or working on different projects for people of all brands.
He also worked on the Navy base fields keeping all the old tractors and...
3 t-stat "tricks"
I have found 2 things that always have served me well when it comes to Mopar thermostats.
1. always test the new t-stat to see if it opens with a pair of pliers and a heat source. (yes. I have had a bad one right out of the box)
2. drill a small hole in the flat part to not...
I had fun with mine then gave it away.
I used to own this beauty.
Raced it as a 383 and won the street class in vegas at the Mopars at the strip in 2008
Autocrossed it with a 440+6 BBL and got 2nd place in the Hotchkis event at the Mopars at the strip in 2010.
Donated the car to be raffled off...
Once again I was forced to choose between house or car.
The car sucked to sleep in and didn't have a kitchen so the car had to go.
We all give moparchris a hard time but I have to say this: "Thanks Brother."
You saved Thanksgiving and Christmas for my family by buying the #projectdirtbird...
Did some horse trading and got a fiberglass Superbird body kit.
Maybe not the best.
Maybe not made of high quality steel or aluminum.
But no matter how much money you have; you can't build a Superbird from a Mustang or a Camaro.
President Barack Obama, surrounded by his normal retinue of Secret Service agents, walks into the Chicago branch office of a regional bank to cash a check.
“Good morning, ma’am,” he says to the cashier. “I’d like to cash this check.”
“Of course, sir,” she replies. “Do you have your drivers...
I always buy the felpro ones that are rubber over metal.
like this: http://www.jegs.com/i/Fel-Pro/375/VS50145R/10002/-1
I usually put a very thin coating of RTV on both sides.
I also use studs on the aluminum valve covers with a coarse and fine thread. That way you can be sure when they are...

I like the concept but I wouldn't cut a real Superbird to do it.
But what do i know?
Welcome.
I can tell you from experience that long after the hard times between a father and son are forgotten; the hours spent together working on the project will be remembered fondly.
We are here to help.
When I finally got the 70 back from my X it had 3 different types of wheels on it all with may-pop tires.
I found a guy right around the corner on Craigslist selling these 95 Jeep wrangler wheels with tires for $40. (that's right $40 bucks for 4 rims and good tires!)
I figured even if they did't...
So how long did it take and what did you spend overall for the conversion?
Who did the work for you?
Did they do a clean job?
You did save the 4 speed stuff right?
