What Wheels & Tires are you guys running?

Sorry guys for my late response. The 8-3/4 rear was narrowed 3.5" per side, and you are correct I mini-tubbed the rear wheel wells by adding a 3.5" spacer. I manufactured my own hangar bracket and cut out the frame and welded it in. that gave enough room to fit the 15" x 12" cragars and the...

Original 69 Axles 489 differential Green Bearings

Two original axles with green bearings installed. These only have about 5 miles on them before I decided to narrow the diff and put moser axles in it to fit the big MT's in the tub job. These are in excellent condition, all you will need is inner seals. Make me an offer by PM. Shipping will...

    8 3/4 axle seal leaking

Getting them out is easy once you pull the axle. The passenger side has the adjuster on it so you have to adjust the end play of the axles, or just go to a green bearing and take out the thrust spacer between the two axles. Make sure whatever you use to put that seal in is as close to the...

    Maximum RPM?

Hey George... The hemi is the way I want to go. If I retire this year, that is what will happen. If I don't go I will rebuild the top end as the valves are way to noisy.

    Maximum RPM?

I'm running 4.10's with a 28.5" tire which the 383 really likes. Prior to that with the stock tire it ran 3500 rpm on the highway and the drone was unbearable. Now it sings at around 3 grand. This year I will either be putting a hemi in the bird or at minimum going to aluminum heads and solid...

    what is a 69 worth?

Great question! In my case the 69 I bought which looked like a turn key operation I paid 18 five. When I received it, it certainly wasn't worth what I paid. It was completely rusted out but the frame was decent so I din't have to repair much of the frame. As for the body it was shot...

Anyone see this Rusty Road Runner on ebay?

Although disguised by clever fiberglass work...mine started out as bad as that. When I reflect on all the work that it took to get the bird in shape I get shivers when I see a car that rusted.

    No flair

I've been using an old General since I was a kid. I've done lots of double flares with it and I just did the rear lines on the bird when I shortened the rear end a month ago. I thin kit was about 5 bucks then and 5 bucks on the bag now.
