After months of a strange electrical discharge that only occurs every now and then and managed to kill one battery... I finally found the source!
As usual, it was something stupid.
Anyone want to take a guess?
Started the brake swap on the Scamp today. Got a lot done as a matter of fact, which makes me happy.
Here's a comparison of the 9" econo-brakes supplied with all slant 6 cars in 1972 and the 11X3's supplied with the big boys in 1969!
So far today I got the left side completed. I Used a set of...
There's no parking brake cable that goes to the FRONT brakes correct??? I had my drums and backing plates from the Runner sand blasted and machined to use on my Scamp... just want to make sure there's no cable supposed to be there because there definitely wasn't one when I took 'em off the bird...
I'm guessing this is an ebay only item? Anyone making them?
I think mines on it's way out... last night my dash lights wouldn't work unless the dome light was on... then about after 10 minutes, they just popped on, lol :loco:
So whats the deal with Pertronix and the use of a ballast resistor?
My ballast failed me yesterday in my Scamp (left me high and dry at the grocery store). Fortunately I have AAA and was only a mile or so from where I store my Runner. I got a tow there, took the ballast off the Runner, plopped...
I filled my tank today and it's leaking like a sieve!
I thought it may have been coming from the sending unit since I just reinstalled it, but it's coming from somewhere on the top right hand side of the tank... I can't spot it with the tank installed. Leaks like a mother when driving, but...
But neither does black wrinkle!
Always wanted one of these chrome cleaners and happened to find one on craigslist locally. It was purchased new in 96 and never mounted. It was still in box with element, base, hardware and decals. The guy even put on one of those yellow instruction...
Just wanted to share some info... I just hope it's actually useful...
I decided to try a different way of finishing some small steel parts on my Runner. This process is known as "oil blacking." Basically your heating up your part with a torch, then submerging it in used dirty motor oil. It's...
Yet AGAIN it appears I have gone through another alternator.
I hooked up my battery and tried to start the Runner last week since it hasn't been run in a month. My battery was low, so I gave it a quick charge. Hook it back up, and it fires right up. I take a blast around the neighborhood and...
Here's a few....
Here's an earlier one some of you may remember. Pre hood stripes and black steelies.
After the hood stripes and red steelies
Freshening up the interior a few years ago
Photoshopped Plymouth lettering
Engine bay during... notice the HOLE between the wiper motor and...
Was taking something off a shelf over the Runner and as you would expect, a bunch of crap falls off the shelf and lands on the car.
One box contained two header reducers and of course one lands right on the hood and takes a small chunk out of my hood stripe. Fortunately no dent.
On the other...
If at any time you thought your block was ravaged by time... just be glad you're not starting your resto with this engine

It's about time someone made these screens! Often the hardest part to find if your attempting to add an Air Grabber to your car.

Any of you guys know where to get, or have laying around the bolts that hold the drums to the spindles? There are two large and two small per side, IIRC.
I'm going to use my 11" drums from my Road Runner on my Scamp and have almost everything I need except the hardware. When I removed my drums...
