Well I thought all the 69 383 engines were painted Turquoise. So when I started in on my Hemi Orange engine, thinking by stripping the engine to repaint I would find evidence of the original Turquoise..... what the heck, no Turquoise???. I could tell the intake and the heads had been repainted...

The service manual for 69 383 says you must use Tool C-3487 to support the rear of the engine to remove tranny. I've never removed a 383 and tranny before. Hmmm, I have to raise the car to get the tranny out and then have to lower it to get the engine out....that is if I do it that way. I can't...

Hi, Removing the engine.... Which way is the best, engine and tranny together or tranny, then engine? I guess you need to remove the radiator and some front end bracing to do it all together,??? Only did 1 engine removal, and that was in my much, much younger days. Thanks for any advice, Jim
